Molluscs demand not to be cooked whilst on hols
How would you like it if your were microwaved on the QE2, says unhappy mussel...

For years they have used ships to go to far-flung places they might never see, but now, the good days could be over for billions of sea-going molluscs.

US researchers are working on a plan to microwave ballast water in ships, effectively cooking the creatures that have stowed aboard the vessel.

"We are aghast at this plan," said the head of MUNITE, the Mollusc union, "It's bad enough you lot cooking our brothers and sisters by the pot load, now you want to do it whilst we are on our hols. I mean give us a break, man!"

Jellyfish leaders also condemned the plan, "Look, we're just squishy little creatures, we like to live in peace. And go hitch-hiking. What's wrong with that. Pigs!"

A spokesperson for one of the world's major container shipping lines said, "For too long our ships have been boarded by these freeloaders. This is how we deal with stowaways on the high seas me lad! Har-har! Shiver me timbers. Got any rum?"
